Privacy Policy

Last Updated: September 2026 • Effective Date: Immediately

At OnionHaseyo (accessible from https://www.onionhaseyo.com), the privacy of our visitors is of paramount importance to us. This Privacy Policy document outlines the types of personal and non-personal information that is collected and recorded by OnionHaseyo and how we use it.

1. Information We Collect

Like most standard website operators, OnionHaseyo uses log files and standard web metrics. The information collected inside the log files includes:

  • Internet Protocol (IP) addresses
  • Browser type and operating system
  • Internet Service Provider (ISP)
  • Date and time stamp
  • Referring/exit pages and landing paths
  • Number of clicks and on-page interaction patterns

We analyze this data solely to track movement across the site, administer the platform, review aggregate trends, and improve our guides. We do not use it to build profiles or to identify individual readers by name. Note that some of it — an IP address in particular — is treated as personal data under the GDPR and comparable laws, so we handle it accordingly rather than describing it as anonymous.

2. Cookies and Web Beacons

Your display preference (Dark/Light mode) is saved in your browser's local storage, not in a cookie. It never leaves your device and is never sent to us or to any third party.

Cookies on this site come from the third-party services described in the sections below — currently Google Analytics, and Google AdSense once advertising is enabled. We do not set advertising or tracking cookies of our own.

You can disable or clear cookies, and clear local storage, through your browser settings. Detailed instructions are published on each browser's own website.

3. Google AdSense & DoubleClick Cookie Compliance

Status: advertising is not yet enabled on OnionHaseyo. No advertising cookies are being set today. This section describes what will apply once Google AdSense is activated, and we will update the date above when that happens.

Google is a third-party vendor. When advertising is enabled, it uses cookies, including the DoubleClick cookie and advertising identifiers, to serve ads to our visitors based upon their visit to OnionHaseyo and other sites on the internet.

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to your website or other websites.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visit to our sites and/or other sites on the Internet.
  • Visitors may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
  • Alternatively, you can opt out of third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info or the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out page.

4. Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4), a web analytics service provided by Google LLC, to understand how visitors find and use our guides. GA4 sets cookies and collects information such as the pages you view, the approximate geographic region derived from your IP address, your device and browser type, the referring website or search query, and how long you spend on a page.

This data is aggregated and used solely to improve our content. We do not use it to identify you personally, and we do not sell it. Google processes this information on our behalf; you can review how Google uses data from sites that use its services.

You may opt out of Google Analytics entirely by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or by blocking cookies in your browser settings as described in Section 2.

5. Affiliate Marketing & Tracking Partners

OnionHaseyo partners with trusted affiliate travel networks including Klook, KKday, Airalo, Agoda, and Booking.com. When you click on an affiliate link displayed on our website, a tracking cookie may be placed in your browser to attribute qualifying purchases. Please review our dedicated Affiliate Disclosure for full details.

6. GDPR Privacy Rights (European Economic Area)

If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA), you have specific data protection rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

  • Right to access: You have the right to request copies of your personal data.
  • Right to rectification: You have the right to request that we correct any information you believe is inaccurate.
  • Right to erasure: You have the right to request that we erase your personal data under certain conditions.
  • Right to restrict or object to processing: You have the right to object to our processing of your personal data.
  • Right to data portability: You have the right to request that we transfer collected data to another organization.

7. CCPA / CPRA Privacy Rights (California Residents)

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), California residents have the right to:

  • Request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal data collected.
  • Request deletion of any personal data collected.
  • Request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal data (Note: OnionHaseyo does NOT sell personal data).
  • Right to non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights.

8. Children's Information (COPPA Compliance)

Protecting children's privacy online is especially important. OnionHaseyo does not knowingly collect any personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13. If a parent or guardian believes that OnionHaseyo has collected personal information of a child under 13 in our database, please contact us immediately and we will promptly remove such information.
